In May 2012, St Mary’s Comprehensive School in Newcastle held the official opening of its new school building. Simon Hatcher is the architect for the school and proudly attended the ceremony where His Excellency, Archbishop Antonio Mennini, Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain blessed the new building.
